Sacred Concerts by Duke Ellington

Duke Ellington, one of the most important American musicians and composers in the history of jazz, wrote three sacred concerts for big band, choir and solo voices during his career from 1965 until the last years of his life. The OffCourse Big Band, together with the San Marino Choir directed by Maestro Fausto Giacomini, proposed Duke Ellington’s sacred concerts to the public at the Teatro Titano in San Marino, performing 10 songs, including “Praise God” and “Heaven” which represent the spiritual testament of the American artist.

The performance was enriched by the lead vocals of Sarah Jane Ghiotti. The DVD of the evening is available, contact us to request a copy.
